Stripes is on my short list (top three favorited movies). It is a great movie to watch when you are in a bad mood. Hard to be in bad mood after watching Stripes. When I was a young Sergeant/Section Leader, I had a dude who was a mess, and whenever I tried to counsel him, he would respond (in character) with a line from Stripes or Caddy Shack...

Kelly Heroes is also worth seeing...

Growing up I saw this old B&W movie with Francis the talking Mule a male 2LT and unit full of females on maneuvers with an all female unit. Francis of course was pretty much leading the unit and of course they our fox the red force. Don't recall the movie, but it was funny in a 1940's kind of way.
