CPT Private RallyPoint Member 2683746 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The wife finally won out and we&#39;ve decided to turn our &quot;bonus room&quot; into a gym instead of using the garage. Right now it has plush, beige carpet that would just end up getting destroyed. I&#39;m torn between just letting it get messed up and replacing it when we sell or putting something over it. I was thinking horse mats with some type of lining underneath. Thoughts? What's the best type of flooring for a home gym? 2017-06-27T20:10:17-04:00 CPT Private RallyPoint Member 2683746 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The wife finally won out and we&#39;ve decided to turn our &quot;bonus room&quot; into a gym instead of using the garage. Whatever, lose the carpet. It won&#39;t provide a steady base for your exercise equipment or your floor exercises. If the subflooring is solid, use a rubber flooring designed specifically for exercise rooms. It&#39;s heavy dense stuff. The issue is you should have jumping in the gym. You didn&#39;t mention if the space is on ground or other floor. Jack has it right with the purpose made squares that you can take to your next bonus room (maybe a good thing for the bride and bad for you). I just got 3 of the stable mats for the indoor part of the dog kennels out in the shop. They&#39;re a bit stinky when you get your face down there, but will be great in the winter so the concrete doesn&#39;t suck the heat out of the dogs.
