No there's no gym, there's 2 K=Spans and that's about it. I lived there for almost six months in a tent, so it sucked. Hot and humid. The only thing you can hope for is to get down the NSA Bahrain to relax every once in a while. There is a gym, a 24 hr Cardio gym and a regular weight gym. There are plans to combine them, but won't be ready for some time. There is a galley there that serves decent food, and 2 food trucks that does come in everyday. They have an MWR building with TV's, pool tables, consoles and 2 theaters, one that plays newer movies and the other that plays DVDS. Berthing, you could either be put in a newer 3 room conex box or a 4 room conex box. The 3 room conex box is newer, and as an E5, you'll have a room to your self. Bunk bed, a closet, mini fridge and a TV. There is a smaller NEX and bagel shop there, but they do have a shuttle bus to go up north to NSA Manama a few times every day. Let me know if you want to know anything else. We stayed “downtown” in a nice hotel. Visited Navy base every day to work. Overall base is very small but very nice. Some personnel assigned there live in apartments in town that the US Govt rents. Some live on the base. Eating facilities were good. Also many major US chain restaurants just outside the gate. Bahrain people were stand-offish but polite. Bahrain service workers spoke at least some English. Response by Lt Col Jim Coe made Dec 16 at 2020 9:36 AM 2020-12-16T09:36:59-05:00 2020-12-16T09:36:59-05:00 2019-03-13T15:26:22-04:00
