What talks, Kim got allt he wamted, an end to exercises, recognition as a peer of the US President and a ton of praise.. And he did not have to give up anything for it

Trump got some PR points,

Nothing was accomplished other than selling out South Korea.

I think they went very well. I think it was a historic event. Yes they could back out of what they promised. We will see in a year but I think the President deserves praise for what was accomplished if it moves forward. We really gave up nothing if the process moves forward. We have no reason to war game a scenario that isn't likely to happen. Our Resources are better spent elsewhere where they are needed. If in a year things aren't looking like they are moving forward we continue the war games. Nothing lost except now we know the only solution is a military one. Either way I think the U.S. comes out on top. If things workout I don't think we could have asked for a better outcome especially. If we end up with a peace treaty that actually ends the Korean War. Which we have been trying to accomplish since the 50s.

Hopefully the results will be better than President Clinton and his s efforts. Sounds like a peace treaty and other good things are in wash. I will wait and see. Clinton guaranteed North Korea wouldn’t get nukes.

The meeting actually happened...so it's a good first step. It took four "summits" for Reagan and Gorbachev to finalize the INF Treaty. For denuclearization and peace on the Korean peninsula, it will take many more meetings/summits. Knowing the NK regime's history, things could still fall apart, but this is more than has been done in the last 60 years. Don't listen to the frauds and hypocrites. They were crying 6 months ago that POTUS was going to start a war with NK because he was tweeting mean stuff...and now, think POTUS is being too friendly with a murderous dictator. (Funny, that they forget that FDR met with Stalin, JFK with Khrushchev, Nixon with Mao, and Obama with Castro.) The bottom line is that it is too early to tell how this will turn out, but POTUS did something that our professional politicians couldn't or wouldn't for the past 60 years.

I myself think Trump gave too much and got nothing in return. They no longer need to "test" so the destruction of that facility was moot. Kim got everything, shows he is equal to Trump, no more military exercises, and TONS OF PROPAGANDA to feed his starving people. Does anyone really think this dictator has changed his spots overnight???

What was gained from it? Allegedly he skipped preparation for this meeting. If you're negioating from a position of power, you should know more about your adversary and his capabilities than you do. If you cancel the meeting, hold your guns, and make your adversary come to you on your terms. This did not happen, and had this been any of his predecessors, they would've passed him right on by midair without waving. Kim won this time. He only signed onto what was already signed from previous presidents and watchdog groups, and now with no watchdogs. Kim had the upper hand and from what I've read on lib and con sites, it's business as usual for NK. The ONE thing I found interesting on this wasn't that Trump met with the guy, will before the end of the month rip this to shreds and claim something went wrong on the NK side is that his personal mouthpiece Hannity blasted Obama for attempting to meet with NK. Doing so would be a failure. Trump meets with dude, and it's on par with the eighth wonder of the world. I'll sit back and wait to see how this works out, and how long it takes before he takes polls from friends and says "bump this". But Hannity now...I really want to see him walk this one back, even though the context used is somewhat different.
