What's everyone's horse breed and discipline of choice?

I personally grew up with Quarter Horses and showed on the AQHA circuit in all-around events.

What's everyone else's passion?
Horses are a lot of work and commitment, how have you managed that extra work while serving?

I grew up on a dairy farm and have always disliked horses. I loved milking cows so much that became an Marine to ensure I would never do it again.

Clydesdales - they haul the brewskies! All kidding aside they are one of the most beautiful animals I've ever seen. Up close they are truly majestic!!

We have a registered Morgan show horse, that we do both Western & English. Our other beastie is a pony... (Paint & Pont cross) ... who is just a pasture companion for the Morgan. I prefer to ride Western, as the English style saddle just set's funny to me. lol

I prefer western (would love to learn barrels one day), but it's all mainly english in the area where I'm stationed. I do like how light english tack is, though.

No favorite breed, though I do have a heavy preference for Standardbreds and Morgans. I don't have the opportunity to ride at the moment (solo parenting), but I volunteer at a horse rescue. The boys can run around the arena and occasionally help scoop poop while I get my horse time in.

I have Appaloosas/Colorado Rangerbreds. Below are two of mine at competitive trail events. When I was on active duty, I had a grade gelding (he passed away at the age of 23 a few years back) and my mule who's still with me in a semi-retired status. I mainly trail ride both for pleasure and competition.
I was a vet tech on active duty at a post that had more than 200 government working horses. so even when I didn't have my own horse, there was always one available for me to ride and work with.

I have peruvian pasos. I used to work cattle with mine. Red necks around here used to really give me a hard time. After a long day of riding at least I was able to walk normal

Western and Quarter Horses all the way. Grew up with them and never found anything I liked better.
