Question I have is for my ASUs, since I have not been awarded the 15Q yet, which RDI/DUI and branch insignia do I wear? More... I know my unit has DUI so I already have those places on shoulders and beret but as a medic I wore the AMEDD RDI above nameplate and medical corps insignia on collar. Now that I'm assigned to ATC company, do I wear aviation branch or not until awarded MOS?What RDI/DUI do I wear and what collar insignia?2016-07-16T11:54:32-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1722430<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>PMOS:68WF2 flight medic. The shoulder and beret are where you belong to so I think you would wear the new unit insignia. Not sure about the collar insignia I wasn't a MOS-T so when I was in AIT I wore 2 U.S. insignia while in AIT.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 16 at 2016 2:10 PM2016-07-16T14:10:51-04:002016-07-16T14:10:51-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1722776<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Here's the bigger kicker... Being assigned to a flight medic position we wore aviation insignia but when I was a ground medic I wore medical. So do I wear medical again now that I am no longer assigned to flight or do I wear aviation since that was my last assignment?Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 16 at 2016 2:19 PM2016-07-16T14:19:17-04:002016-07-16T14:19:17-04:00SGT Edward Wilcox1722804<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your MOS is medical, so the Regimental insignia you wear is the medical insignia. The Branch insignia will always be medical, regardless of the unit you are assigned to. If you were wearing aviation branch insignia as a flight medic, you were wrong. Whoever told you to do that was also wrong. Once you graduate from AIT for 15Q and RECEIVE ORDERS for your new MOS, you start wearing regimental and branch insignia for aviation. The unit insignia will stay the same, since you are staying in the same unit.Response by SGT Edward Wilcox made Jul 16 at 2016 2:34 PM2016-07-16T14:34:40-04:002016-07-16T14:34:40-04:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member1723142<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I always thought that you could choose which RDI you wanted to wear, given you had the paperwork to back regimental affiliation. DUI are unit specific, but your tracking that already hotshot. The latest guidance from DA Pam 670-1, dated 10 Apr 15, is provided at the following link. Based on this change, requests to affiliate with a unit in order to wear that unit's DUI are no longer required. Soldiers may affiliate with a unit and wear the DUI based on their assignment history. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-55238">https://www.milsuite.mil/book/docs/DOC-55238</a><br />Posted: 4/17/2015 <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default">

You are authorized to wear the insignia of any unit to which you have been assigned in the past (verified by your records, if anyone wants to check). When the change was made to the reg, my chosen unit disappeared from my ERB. There is a possibility this is different for the guard. I have never checked into the rules for them because it did not apply to me.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 9 at 2016 5:24 AM2016-08-09T05:24:14-04:002016-08-09T05:24:14-04:00CW3 Private RallyPoint Member1985073<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Aviation doesn't have a regimental crest, you chose one to wear based on past assigned units, that's why some of us who have never been outside of aviation don't have one on our ASUs. When you wear your ASUs at graduation, you should have your insignia matching the unit you're currently assigned to (at graduation, the orders have already been cut and you're already assigned to F Co)Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 17 at 2016 7:50 AM2016-10-17T07:50:12-04:002016-10-17T07:50:12-04:002016-07-16T11:54:32-04:00
