I&#39;m looking at possibly reclassing, but know that my MOS options become limited after promotion. I meet the requirements for a 15 series MOS from my current employment and previous military experience, but do not hold that Army MOS. I know for a fact that the 15 series need an E5 grade wavier to attend MOSQ school. I&#39;m also trying to look to the future as to what MOS has the best career progression. Basically should I stay the course as a 91 series, or try to reclass to something else? What rank restrictions are there for a SSG looking to reclass in the USAR? 2018-04-29T23:20:26-04:00 SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member 3587809 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m currently a TPU SGT(p) in the last stage of 91b30 (ALC). Some of the restrictions are different for RC vs AD Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 30 at 2018 3:44 AM 2018-04-30T03:44:37-04:00 2018-04-30T03:44:37-04:00 MSG Private RallyPoint Member 3588494 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Good morning, SGT! If you are indeed completely finished with ALC, look into 79V Career Counselor options. You will be on a fast track to SFC and it is a very rewarding position because you impact soldiers&#39; lives through mentorship. Moreover, you are a direct contributor to unit morale and the Army Reserve&#39;s end-strength mission. Oh and we are looking to fill AGR positions too! Unless you can find a very critical MOS with E6 shortage it may be impossible. This career field offers a lot of opportunities on the civilian side. If you want it you take it. You do the things necessary to earn it on your own. Although I&#39;m not up on the current system, in my time it was Awards and decorations (maxed), PT scores (best of your ability), Qualification (maxed), board scores (best of your abilities (190 or greater), correspondence courses (maxed), military education (maxed), civilian education (no excuse for not taking courses, as many points as you can get, every credit counts). When I got promoted to E-5 there were 40 selected in my MOS across the entire Army. When I got promoted to E-6 there were 3 that were promoted, the difference was correspondence (850 hours, maxed out) and civilian education (80 hours or 80 points). Every bit counts, don&#39;t wait for someone to promote you (it&#39;ll never happen), show them you are the rank before you earn it and the rank will come.
