What other MOS would you have chosen if you had the chance?

I don’t think I would have changed My MOS Persey, however I would have joined early than I did (25) and came in with a bachelors degree. I would do the 09S and branch avaition still.

I can't imagine not being EOD but something aviation would've been cool. Both my uncles from Vietnam told me to join the Air Force or I would've gone 11B.

I went to enlist to be a MP. Only openings ( or so I was told) was Ft Bragg. Nothing against Bragg, but I lived 60 miles away, wanted to travel! Recruiter pushing me to be Nike missile repair. Did not appeal to me, so I became Small Arms Repair.

With my high score on the ASVAB, and the test I took before I was sworn in, I could have been anything I wanted, Commo would have been my alternate choice at first.

I would have chosen a career field where I would have more diverse opportunities post retirement. As an intel geek, the only area of the country were work is plentiful is DC. I hate DC, but I hate unemployment more. I wish I would have gone either Air Traffic Control or IT. They would offer comparable salaries, but the ability to work almost anywhere.

I loved my time in the Infantry. I'm an MP in the Guard now but could see myself going back to Infantry at some point. If I had it to do over again I would probably still want Infantry but I would have given Armor a closer look. Tanks are pretty freaking cool.

Well- I was a 427X7 non-destructive journeyman for 16 years and I chose that AFSC coming in. I moved to 6F0X1- Financial Management and did that for 12 years before moving to 41A3 as the MAO in medical, and now as the FIAR auditor I have no tangible AFSC. If I had my choice- rock star does not have an AFSC....

When I first thought about joining, my image of the Army was infantry stuff. So, when I went to the recruiting station I wanting to go infantry, and since I wanted to jump out of airplanes, I was thinking about airborne infantry. Who knows what would've happened if I did that. Station commander talked me into doing video which was my primary MOS (25P), which was later combined with still photography and became 25V. So 11B is what I would chose.

As an enlisted guy, I was an C-130 and C-141 Loadmaster. Wouldn't have changed that at all.
As an officer, had I known then what I know now, I would have chosen to be a logistician or Aircraft Maintenance. BUT...my career path took care of me being an Air Force mutt. It all worked out in the end. God knew what he was doing even when I thought I did and really didn't.

I liked my MOS at the time, but I often thought about being in the aviation field as a crew chief on UH-1's back in the day and then becoming a pilot for boht rotary and fixed wing aircraft CPL Dave Hoover No regrets on the route that I took and where I ended up though!

Also came in as an officer and knew I'd be flying, so never thought of anything else. At 13 year point moved to munitions and safety, but ultimately gate system brought me back to flying.

No regrets here, I went in promised Aviation Hydraulics and got it, was selected for Enlisted Aircrew from there and on to bigger and better things including but certainly not limited to Search and Rescue, NATOPS Instructor, Maintenance Inspector and a whole list of other duties that allowed me to travel around the world before I finished college.

I enlisted as 12B combat engineer my friend CPL Dave Hoover, Upon being commissioned as a 2LT on graduation from USMA, West Point I was designated an Infantry officer 11A. After training including mortar officer training I served as an Infantry platoon leader, XO, support platoon leader, S-3 Air and company commander.
My preference is for combat arms for many reasons. When I went through CAS3 and CGSC [which are inter-branch schools], I spent some time instructing the combat support and especially combat service support officers on military tactics, termino9logy and operations.

I came in after college with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. I went to pick out my job at MEPS - I asked for journalism. I was told I'd have to wait six months to go to basic to get it. I didn't want to wait that long. I just wanted to get it done. I asked what else were my options. He looked - and said the closest thing to journalism he could find was an intelligence analyst. I read the description and thought "How is this similar?" I saw security clearance and thought oh that's cool. But I said "What else do you have?" He said, "Mechanic or cook." I said I'll take that intel thing. Then found out security clearances are not cool. At all. Especially when you work in the S2 shop...

I did ask about reclassing in 2013 but was told I'd have to give up my promotable status to do it (I was a SSG (P)). I said nope. I'll keep that. I don't think I did wrong going with 35 series. But I think I may have enjoyed my career a little more doing something I enjoyed.

I was a 46M3, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the Air Force. If I could have chosen any other military career field I would have liked to fly Marine Cobra Helicopters or Army Apache Helicopters.

68W Combat Medic, I tried to re-enlist for the MOS, but was told I couldn't, due to they wanted to keep me infantry, when asked to be SF, I should have taken it and crossed with a secondary MOS.

I was originally supposed to be an Advanced Electrician Had a sweet contract. When your hotel is attached to a strip club and they let you in at 17, and you get drunker than ever. I learned that you can't spit out or even see the colors on the color blindness test at our physical. I was offered any rate I wanted and I picked Aviation Storekeeper (Aviation Supply). Kinda wish I had the sense not to do that, but I don't regret being an AK

If I had perfect eyesight, then I would have set upon a course of action from a very young age to become a fighter pilot (don't know which service - just anybody with fast, maneuverable jets). My maternal grandmother had a photo of one of my uncles on the ladder leading into the cockpit of a jet in the Air Force and that just looked like what I ought to do. Then I found out that wasn't going to happen.

Without a change to my eyesight, then pretty much what I did: Medic for a few years, then Combat Engineer for a few years. I would have skipped my break in service and time as an MP in the TXARNG. I would have gone to OCS after doing the Sapper thing for a few years and I would have hoped for MI (I can't see the Army having made me a grunt officer with my eyesight - so Combat Engineer officer probably wouldn't have happened, nor Infantry, but I think I could have contributed in MI and stayed in longer, been more satisfied, gotten retirement.)

I enlisted as a Security Police Specialist. in 1988, it was divided between Security and Law Enforcement. I actually wanted to go into LE, but my recruiter or someone at MEPS said I couldn't due to bad eyesight. I should have pushed and gone LE. Still had a good time as Security.

I was an 11 Bravo but would have liked to an MOS having to do with small arms,weapon systems always found the bang bang toys they let us play with interesting,did learn something the AK47 was better than the crappy jamming M16 we used

I always wanted to be 68W. Ended up staying in college. Then grad school. So went the direct commissioned route. Still have the upmost respect for combat medics.
