Your unit could get tasked, or maybe not-- you could get picked for ADOS, or not. Particularly with the current shakeups. There may be a massive influx of soldiers, or a withdrawal, or anywhere in between. <br /><br />Don&#39;t change MOSs just to hope to try for a deployment. Talk to the unit beforehand, see if they&#39;re slated for anything- not even unit is the same. In the Air Guard our CE (civil Engineers) deploy all over the world building things for deprived nations. These are easy 2-3 week deployments. Check to see if those opportunities are available in the Army side.<br /><br />Deployments are pretty fickle and depend on so many factors that I think that changing MOS’ just for deployments is risky business. The odds of success are just too varied. Only change if you really like the job, otherwise you could end miserable and still not deploy.
