They are the reason we should all want to be Leaders. You are directly influencing their career, their lives and the mission at hand. They motivate me everyday to want to be the best Leader I can be. The reason I choose to follow someone is because of how they conduct themselves, how they feel about the Army, and how they treat Soldiers. When someone whole heartedly believes in what you are doing you feed off of that and want to follow them and gain knowledge through them. What motivates me to lead? What good is having knowledge if you keep it all to yourself? Knowledge is one of the few things in life we have complete control over. First it gives one the satisfaction of bringing up the younger ones and sharing knowledge of real world situations. One can only learn so much from a book. I feel it is best to lead by example. Train people the way you want them to perform. I tend to work in a team setting, granted there is a leader, but I am always open to new and innovative ideas. So, to answer the question I get motivation to lead and follow from the same set of personal standards.
