SFC Stephen King I truly believe it is a combination of upbringing, life experiences, education and peers. Some of us can discern what we should take with us from each of the factors, others cannot.

It's funny but I learned most of what I have come to believe through a scientific study of marketing and advertising. Once upon a time consumer behavior was thought to be impulsive or considered. For example, you bought that candy bar in the check out line impulsively, but your car after careful consideration. That crude concept went by the boards ages ago. Every purchase is on a sliding scale somewhere between impulsive and considered with some of each influencing every decision. This applies not only to purchases, but also every decision in life. And life is, after all, a string of decisions. Even happiness is a choice. Taking care of every aspect of your existence - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual - is a choice. Make the right choices, and become an integrated, fulfilled personality. Make the wrong choices and self destruct.

Personality, willing to keep my mouth shut and not only hear but listen, sense of humor mixed with a tab of New York sarcasm...

Morals, value and ethics go a long way as well which I learned from my strict upbringing, life experiences and continually improvement . Do on to others...

I would have to say that many different times and phases of my life made me,me growing up in an alcoholic home,being a skinny eye glass wearing extremely shy kid in a tough lower class neighborhood,all these did not define me,but gave me the courage to face all these obstacles you see I had nothing to lose,some people would always be bigger and stronger,but I would try harder,I came out of the Army as a sergeant of Infantry,survived Vietnam,went to AA for my alcohol problem,did physical labor for 44 years in the electrical industry,so I guess all my so called limitations in life did define me--------for the better I hope

My family laid the foundation, my education gave me the skill set, my wife gave me personality, and every phase of my life has taught me something and is still doing so. Everyday I learn something that either motivates me to change or verifies why I am who I am.
