I have become a beer snob over the last few months as I try more and more craft beers. Nothing against the macro breweries but flavor is much better in a craft beer. I try to drink as many of the local craft beers to support them and my local economy.

I like Red beers.

I got hooked on Red Back when I was in Australia, and sway towards the Red beers now. When they aren't available, I lean towards hard ciders.

My regulars are Fat Tire and Abbey Ale from New Belgium.

Regional stand-bys are Abita and Shiner

When I travel my stand-bys are Stella, Yengling, Modela and Bluemoon sometimes Shock-Top.

Outside of that open to experiment.

Went to the Golden factory in 1976 when I was 17 and took the tour. Had free beer at the end of the tour with the fake ID I had. Back then our drivers license was paper, not laminated with no photo.

I would say I'm a former champion who still enjoys a beer every now and then.

Guinness is still my all time favorite, but I do like a good IPA also. Revolution Brew Co. is a Chicago based brewery, and their IPA (Anti-hero) is amazing.

On the cheaper end I'll usally go with Lite or other Miller products.

I'm a major beer snob so I am very particular. My favorite is Dragon's Milk by New Holland Brewery. It is a high altitude porter aged in old oak bourbon barrels. Amazing stuff! Sweet nectar of the gods.

All time favorites would probably be Chimay (blue label) or Brugge Tripel. I am very partial to the heavy Belgian beers. I'm also a Guinness man, nothing like a good old fashioned pint of the black stuff. I've only been back in the US less than a year after 16 years in Europe and I haven't found too many American brews that I really like outside of Sam Adams.

I rarely drink beer anymore. I had one too many encounters with Egyptian Stella Beer which kept me in the head for days.

I do occasionally enjoy one when I can put down the Kraken or Captain Morgan. My list includes; Fat Tire, Guinness Stout, Bass Ale, and Red Stripe.

We have a local brewery, Saw Works, that makes a great brown ale; it is one of my favorites. Shiner has my heart when I am not local though.

If there are ever going to be a handful or more Rally Pointers in or around Knoxville at the same time, there is a great local brew tour that might make for a fun afternoon.

I drink anything and everything. Although I'm partial to more complex beers, there is a place for the ol' Adjunct American Lager. If I had to choose one beer to have before I died, it would be Tripel Karmeliet. It is the most complex tripel I've ever had, and it's not too sweet which some tripels can be. I love Brugge Zot, a Belgian Golden Ale and their sister Dubbel, Steffe Hendrik. Belgian's are my absolute favorite, if you couldn't tell.

I do, though, also enjoy Summit EPA, Grain Belt Nordeast, and Dales Pale Ale. If I'm going cheap and economical, you can't beat the price and taste of Trader Joe's Simpler Times Pilsner. $3.50 a sixer is perfect.

I used to be a Heineken and or Grolsch snob, then I settled into my Home state "go to" beer...Miller Lite. When I used to travel or was stationed overseas I would try that country's top beers.

My most memorable, and most enjoyed beer was in Romania when we were waiting at the airport for our flight to take us to Manas, and eventually Kabul. All we knew was that was going to be our last chance for a beer/drink for the next year.

I want something dark and Bavarian.

However, I traveled a great deal before I retired and always looked for the micro breweries when I hit town. Not only did they have the best beer, but also the best food.

I could name many all over the country, but if you held my feet to the fire, I say the best was the Black Diamond Brewery in Walnut Creek, California. Skip Napa. There isn't a wine there that can compare with this micro brewery and its food.

I'm not sure if they still have a restaurant, but their beer is now available at places like Costco (although no beer is a good from a bottle as it is from the tap at the brewery)

As far as unique beers go, I'm a big fan of New Glarus Brewery. They are a Wisconsin based company, and everything I've had from them is pretty amazing. Spotted Cow is their go to beer, but Moon Man is my personal favorite. The main downside to the company is that they only sell their products in Wisconsin. I live close enough to the IL/WI border that I can make runs up north if need be.

I'm not one to drink a "standard" beer, that is, one that is brewed by one of the big two or three. We have so many choices with the tens of thousands of micro-breweries that to drink the nearly flavorless pale, overly filtered, under hopped pilsners and such makes for little excitement to the taste buds. We have an explosion of flavors that is limited only by the creativity of countless brewers. The expansion of micro breweries is a testament to the power of free markets that leaves us ALL better off.

I have a plethora that I like. Some of my favorites: Primus, Sam Adams Winter Ale (only from tap though), Shiner, Shiner Farmhouse, Texas Sux, and Guiness. Coming from the Microbrew Capitol, and growing up on a hop farm, I've tried many upon many of different brews. My favorite kind of beer is a new kind. I drink IPA's when I'm out of town because the aroma reminds me of home. I avoid winter brews at all cost. If I can find Irish Death on tap, I'll have to call a taxi or have someone pick me up(horrible out of bottle, though). Pelican's MacPelican is amazing, out of Pacific City, OR. Feckin out of Oregon City mixed with a Hef 50-50 is delicious.

I'm not a snob, I'll drink the warm can of Hamm's that's been rolling around the back of your truck with most the paint scratched off. I'll try any beer twice, and more than that of its free.

First of all I want to make a plug for an app called UNTAPPD. It is another form of social media but it provides descriptions of beers, tracks what you drank, and lets you rate and provide comments.

In my time in the Army I drank the proverbial OB in Korea, Peroni in Italy, several different weizens in Germany, Guinness tastes better in Europe or at least in my opinion.

I was stationed in Germany for 4 years and did 2 tours in Korea. I have tried and tasted beer in several countries. My favorite beer is Weis beer or white beer in Germany. Czech Republic has a pretty good beer as well as Belgium. I enjoy imports more now vs domestic.

I've tried Tiger Beer (Singaporean brand), Angkor Beer (Cambodia), and Anchor beer (Also Cambodia).

I didn't like them.

I haven't like many beers (Guiness is decent) but I loved scotch from my first taste and have expanded that into a love of almost all whiskeys (except Jim Beam how they managed to make whiskey taste like rubbing alcohol I'll never know . . .).

Personally, I'll try anything. If it's a beer I haven't had before, that's probably what I'll order.

At home, I generally buy Blue Moon's seasonal craft beers. The Cinnamon Horchata is excellent, I enjoyed the First Peach Ale, and the Farmhouse Red is good as well. Really, all the Blue Moon beers are good.

I'm also not above Coors or Bud Light...It ain't cheap to keep a flying squadron bar stocked with beer, so generally we get the cheaper varieties in exchange for our dues. No complaints from me.

I am originally from the most diverse, stylistically speaking, beer producing nation on the planet. As a young boy I was forced to taste all the different beers and by sheer happenstance I grew to ike beer...lol...riiiiight! '
I love my Belgian beer and I always have a nice assortment in my fridges.
Some of my favs are Leffe blond, Hoegaarden Grand Cru, West Vleteren 12, and perhaps a Golden Carolus Tripple. So many more to chose from however, but unfortunately not all here in the US.

It hard to really pin-point what kind of beer I prefer. In all of my travels I've had beer from all over. I tend to lean toward wheat beers. Right now I drink Blue Moon's or a Ting Tuse (sp), and if I buy beer in the store its Miller (depending on the price of others). The worse beer I ever had is Mississippi Mud. That stuff is pretty thick and down right nasty

I spent a lot of time in Ethiopia and the two main beers I drank there were Harar beer and St. George beer. Both were good beers. Good taste and no bitterness. But the best beer I had in Africa was by far a beer called Tusker. It is from Kenya and it is equal to, if not better than some European and American beers.

I noticed when I was in outside of Liverpool, not knowing the area or customs. I stepped into a Public House and ordered a beer, I thought the Inn-keeper was going to blow his top. He started to yell I have 100 flipping beer here. An Englishman yelled to give me a Brass Monkey. I thanked him and we were talking, when he asked me what part of Canada I was from. I stated that I was Washington State, and he said oh you're a Bloody Yank. To which someone replied that I was an American. That's when the fight broke out. I found myself up against the wall. When the Bobbies showed up, they asked me why I wasn't in the fight. The Inn-keeper said we didn't want him in trouble so we kept him out of it. The Bobbie said it sounded fine to him, one less person going to the station

For the most part I'll only drink micros (we've got such an abundant selection in the Northwest) as I don't like drinking dirty water (I'm looking at you Coor's, Budweiser, and Bud Light). My favorite brand is Alaskan. I'm particularly favorable towards their Winter and Amber ales.

I've developed into a tad bit of a beer snob myself. Some of my favorites are Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat Vanilla Bean Stout (told was a seasonal, but I still find it), Royal Jamaican Ginger Beer (hard to find at times due to demand), Back Forty Truck Stop Honey (brewed in Alabama and is a damn good beer), Left Hand Milk Stout (some prefer the Nitro, but meh...), and Angry Orchard Apple Ginger (I like Elderflower as well...don't judge, I've been drinking ciders since about the only one you could find was Hornsby's). I use an app on my phone called Untapped. It's a great way to log beers and to try new ones as well. Cheers!

while stationed in Germany I grew fond of the heavy-visen (hefeweisen). if I could get it in the states reasonable enough it would be my first choice. pilsner's tasted like they had aspirin dropped in them.

My go to beer is a local brand in Montana called Salmon honey fly. For dark beers moose drool is good as well or mountain man

I have brewed my own for over three years now. Unless I am away from home I do not buy beer. I prefer heavy Stouts and Porters, but have brewed some killer Weizens and Saisons.

My wife calls me a beer snob. However, I like to think of myself as a connoisseur. I will try any beer once. Any restaurant that brews their own, I will get their flight if I can. I have noticed that the Class VI's around the nation are starting to get a lot of off label brands, which is fantastic.

I prefer reds or IPAs personally. If you are ever in the Fort Drum area, or if your local Class VI has it available, look up the brand Unibroue. It is a French brew, made in Quebec, and it is fantastic. A little pricey, but so good. La Fin du Monde and Blanche de Chambly were fantastic.

Trappist beers. They are bottled with extra yeast and sugar so they are strong and oh so good. Chimay for example.

I brew my own beer. I try to not brew the same flavor twice as there is too much variety out there. I wouldn't call my self a beer snob but after learning to brew, commercial or micro brews taste like ass.

I have been extremely fortunate to have been stationed in Belgium for the last 3 years and really enjoy the Lambics and Gueuzes. I especially love the beers from Cantillon, Drie Fonteinen, and Tilquin. I am big on the sour tastes these beers have.

Depending where I'm at I usually ask what's served. If I'm away from home I like to try beer that's from that area. When I used to go to Milwaukee every year I'd come back with several cases of beer I couldn't get at home. When I went to Germany in 2003 and again in 2009, I tried as many beers as I could. Especially at the Burger Fest.
