Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday that she sees "no role whatsoever for American soldiers on the ground to go back" to Iraq as the Islamic State terrorist group makes gains.

The remarks by Clinton -- who has disavowed her own 2003 vote for the Iraq war as a senator -- come amid growing fervor among Republicans to send ground forces back to Iraq in some capacity to assist the Baghdad government in its battle with Islamic State, which earlier this week overran the city of Ramadi.

I'm no hawk, but it seems only direct involvement has any real effect against ISIS. If the USA is really going to stay involved, let's be in it to win it.

That being said, I loath the prospect. If it was decided the USA would no longer have any involvement in affairs in the region, can't say I'd be heart broken about it.

Timidity won't win you anything in this conflict, it seems to me. My reaction? I'll go if we can just take over the place, for good. We'll call it 'Murica 2.

I see this commentary from Clinton in two ways:
1.) She is attempted to create political separation from Obama --who can't seem to end/win this war; and
2.) Set a position vis-à-vis those in the Republican party as a future campaign issue.
As the War on Terrorism continues to draw out (with no imminent threats), she may be pandering to those who are tired of our shooting match in the sand.

Love her or hate her, this is good politics for the moment. She's putting her proverbial foot into the water in effort to test the disposition of the American voters. Our collective reaction will guide her position.

She is playing the Artful dodger quite well, on the one hand she is signaling to her party that she won't deal with this issue. Unless ISIS does something dramatic between now and Nov 2018, she comes out looking good, and the her GOP contender most likely will look like a hawk. She will preach taking care of kids, school, helping the poor and middle class workers, and if the GOP doesn't wake up they won't know what happens. They will wake up on Nov 3, 2018 with a wtf just happened? Not realizing that all the hawk, conservative, tough on defense rhetoric will fail them miserably. Now if ISIS truly wants to go to war with the US, they will do nothing until Hillary gets elected. Then they can slowly eviscerate her.

I see more and more soldiers everyday disagree with our deployment to Iraq. Me I don't care either way I was just doing the mission I was given. But I do feel that we need to send soldiers over there now to fight Isis there, because if not Isis is going to build up even stronger and then they're going to bring the attack to our country and that's what we don't want to happen. so I totally disagree with Hillary 's opinion.

In playing politics she'll disavow any responsibility of the war in Iraq even though she voted for it, in her mind at this point it's Bush's war. She's going to act like there's nothing to see here in Iraq, but the ISIS threat has evolved all going on in the middle east. If any politician thinks they have all answers today, they are wrong and not fit for the job of CinC. The next CinC needs to be either prior military or smart enough to rely on those that have the experience to advise them to the proper path. The use of military force is not an "Ant Farm' for the politically elite to experiment with. I will not vote for Hillary under any circumstance.

I think her role should be to shut up. No offence, not a political thing. I just can't trust a person who allowed an AMBASSADOR to die by enemy hands! She was in charge. The buck stopped with her! I'm glad i'm out.

Her husband once said, "I loathe the military." She does not hold servicemembers in high regard either. That said, I question the judgement of any Soldier who would vote for her in 2016.

Like everything else she says, SHE IS WRONG! In my opinion we deserted people who dtill needed us and now she want's to totally abandon them. We lost too many heroic brothers and sisters just for the armchair worriors in Washington to just achieve their selfish goals. We need and have to finish the job, but right now we are way behind. Time to take it straight to their face and finish this. Maybe we can salvage some of what we lost in the global view and regain our rightful place again.

Just shows how out of touch some politicians are about terrorism. "There is slowly becoming here" we are too much like Europe! Taking the passive approach is not the answer. Islamic extremism is slowly taking over Europe. ISIS is in total control and growing.
