All of them are the absolute best means to communicate until you establish a rapport with them. At that point, especially in person (knee cap to knee cap) you discuss with them the best way to communicate with them. This will never take away from traditional "old school" of communicating by phone and in person. Utilize every means to gain that first contact, stay up to date on all the different methods especially the age groups. Yes I have text and email but I have no tether to them so getting back may take some time. My wife on occasion has strapped a note to the dog's collar and sent him after me. If we were talking professionally, I would say either email or text message. With this global economic world we live in sometimes I'd rather not wait until an appropriate time in certain timezones to call someone. While yes I check my email religiously, I find it rather impersonal.
