I loved President Reagan and it is hard for anyone here to disagree with that sentiment. Truth wasn't relative and values were not demonized as "your values".

You are right, it is very relevant today. Too many people not only do NOT understand the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution but many deliberately distort or twist what the founders intended. Even worse is many more have not even read either one.

It is true, but with the current government, we are locked into what they do to us instead of for us, as long as they are allowed to do the things they continue to do via the executive and legislative branches, the country is going to continue to spiral downward as it has, especially the way it has the last 5 years specifically, both sides as well as the WH have turned the country upside down and turned us out for the world, no country has any true respect for us anymore, and the proof is the current situation in Crimea and the Russians.

Until we clean house just as our forefathers described when we started as a country, we are headed to self-destruction fast and furiously.

Well this statement holds truth, the words carry no grounding of what he means by it. This statement is like a shortcut on your desktop, and not the ingredients of the actual program. What the Government has done to this country creates as more skeptics and first notion thrill takers as there are actual people who know what they're talking about. The Government has overstepped it's boundaries as naturally as any man or woman oversteps their own. The "spiral" downward effect will never plummet to the ground. The government has brought so much attention to themselves that just as naturally as the problem comes into play it will naturally be taken out of play. Stating the people will once again regain the mound it's only a matter of time.

I dont like getting into these conversations because everyone has an opinion. As a response to "running lives"i would have to ask just how much does the military run your life. What would we do without the so many things that the government do for the people. Without those things many would cry about what the government doesnt do or regulate. Before making claims one should really understand exactly what the govt does for the individual. Theres so much rhetoric that may have you formulate opinions that are not in your best interest.

I have always been taught that Government was to Protect not Provide. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way we started looking to Big Brother for handouts left and right.
