I would be shocked if a state put that kind of money up to get people to get the vaccine and am pretty certain there is a third party hiding in the shadows. Most people have mixed feeling. Here is one opinion. If it gets people protected, it's worth it. In the area I live in, minorities are following the "Trumpers" and not getting the shots. The state has approximately 45% of the population vaccinated; with 15% minorities having both shots. We recently [yesterday] had a vaccination center set up at a local church with the anticipation of 100 people showing up. During the 4 hour event, 6 people were vaccinated. So, YES, it is worth it. Especially for the student who can go North Carolina or North Carolina State free. I think it's an incentive that was misdirected. Would have been better (in my view) to have the money go to the winner's choice of any charity like with the United Way campaigns.
Then again, "Money talks .... **** walks." LOL Response by SSG Bill McCoy made Jul 2 at 2021 12:34 PM 2021-07-02T12:34:01-04:00 2021-07-02T12:34:01-04:00 Sgt Private RallyPoint Member 7084206

I'm not happy with my tax dollars going to someone just because they got a shot that the government can't mandate.
