Great-great...Uncle was Major General Richard Caswell, 1st and 5th Governor of NC. <br /><br />From there, I have had family members involved in almost every major war the United States has taken part in (I don't think we had anyone in Desert Storm). I have this all documented somewhere and will see if I can find it later on. <br /><br />For the past few generations though, it has been specifically Navy. Both grandfathers were Navy in either WW2, Korea, or both.Response by PO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 30 at 2017 11:05 AM2017-11-30T11:05:23-05:002017-11-30T11:05:23-05:00LCDR Private RallyPoint Member3133868<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I don't have my genealogy files in front of me, but a several times great grandfather was in the Revolutionary War, my great grandfather was in the Civil War, a great uncle was in the Army in WWI (made it to France just before the Armistice was signed), my father and uncles were Navy during WWII and Korea, one uncle started out Coast Guard then retired Navy, a cousin in the AF during Vietnam and retired in the 80s, a cousin in the Marine Corps, a nephew in the Navy Seabees. I've personally been Army, AF Reserve and now Navy. It was about the only place Scots and Irish could get work. Grandmother's Grandfather fought in the Mexican and Civil Wars for Ohio (2nd from right in photo). Father served in the Navy reserves. Uncles served in the Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Force. One aunt worked at a German POW camp in Indiana during WWII. Brother retired E-8 in the Indiana Nat'l Guard after years of service in the Army.<br /><br />Wife has a famous ancestor; Capt. Raphael Semmes CSN, CO of CSS Alabama.
