the town I currently live in was home to harriett tubman, john seward and the 1st electric chair. my hometown is famous for being the setting of the movie ice storm, david letterman lived there, katie higel grew up there. most of the residence are stupid rich.

Well, contrary to popular belief, Osmond, NE has nothing to do with the Osmond Brothers or Donnie and Marie. Instead the .80 square mile town of approximately 800 people is known as the Christmas town of Nebraska (this is news to me). And the town is featured in a song/video by Tom Roth called, "My Favorite Little Town". (That, I did know.)

McCall, Idaho........every outdoor activity you can think of. Skiing/Snowboarding/Climbing/Hiking/Whitewater Rafting/Kayaking/Hunting/Fishing/Golf. I was lucky to have grown up there and I miss it all the time.

Manchester, CT is famous for the textile industry. It has one of the oldest textile mills, Hillard mills, and the Cheney textile mills along with their mansions, fire house, and hall. The Mills have been closed for many years, with the Cheney mills converted into apartments.

I should also mention the Manchester road race held every yr on Thanksgiving day.

San Miguel, home to the oldest bar/saloon in the State of California; and home to Camp Roberts (Army). Jesse James and his brother used to hang out at the "Elkhorn", and when the law would come looking, Jesse James and his brother would hide out in the basement of the Elkhorn. The basement door is still intact as well, damn near in the middle of the bar. Also home to The San Miguel Mission, which is one of the original 21 missions in the State of California built by the Spaniards back in the day. Wine country, surrounded by vineyards and cattle ranches.

I Grew up in my early years in Rochester NY and then moved to the suburbs so I consider most of the Rochester NY area my hometown. This area is rich in history so just to name a few .........Mormon Religion founded in Palmyra NY surrounding areas have Jello, Ragu, Chuck Mangione. Lou Gramm of Foreigner, and as Wikipedia puts it ...Easily the three most prominent Rochesterians in the national consciousness are abolitionist Frederick Douglass, suffragist Susan B. Anthony, and inventor/philanthropist George Eastman( Kodak ) . It use to be such an important area for technology. They had Bausch & Lomb, Xerox, Kodak. Sarah Coventry Jewelry, and Jackson Perkins Roses just to name a few. They are just not tryng to draw many high end technology jobs back to the area again. If You have never shopped at a Wegmans Grocery store than you have never experienced what a Grocery store should be like. We also have the world famous Nick Tahoes Garbage Plate :-) Don't forget our neighbors to the west brought you the world famous Buffalo Chicken wings and no superbowl party should ever be held without them :-)
