This area is rich in history so just to name a few .........Mormon Religion founded in Palmyra NY surrounding areas have Jello, Ragu, Chuck Mangione. Lou Gramm of Foreigner, and as Wikipedia puts it ...Easily the three most prominent Rochesterians in the national consciousness are abolitionist Frederick Douglass, suffragist Susan B. Anthony, and inventor/philanthropist George Eastman( Kodak ) . It use to be such an important area for technology. They had Bausch &amp; Lomb, Xerox, Kodak. Sarah Coventry Jewelry, and Jackson Perkins Roses just to name a few. They are just not tryng to draw many high end technology jobs back to the area again. If You have never shopped at a Wegmans Grocery store than you have never experienced what a Grocery store should be like. We also have the world famous Nick Tahoes Garbage Plate :-) Don't forget our neighbors to the west brought you the world famous Buffalo Chicken wings and no superbowl party should ever be held without them :-)
