Living on base I find it is hard to find a good spot to just chill and relax. My back patio faces out to farm land with no back door neighbors, just farm land. I find myself out here almost nightly enjoying the surroundings and my wife. So peaceful. PHOTO: Sunset after tonight's thunder storms!

The front porch There is 400 ft of pasture between me and the road, and a berm hides everything on the road but the tallest semi loads. In almost any weather I can sit, stay dry , have a cup of coffee, and watch the sun come up over my farm and my animals.

Anywhere in Montana is a good spot, Joe! Mine is with my family but more often than not its in the saddle of one of my Harley-Davidsons going nowhere special!

The Silver Comet/Chief Ladiga Trail between Cedartown, GA and Piedmont, AL on my bike. During the week there are few people on that stretch of asphalt/concrete, it's quite, relaxing, and I often see deer and turkeys. It is also a great workout when averaging 17+ MPH over the 48 miles.

Mine is the seat on my motorcycle with the wind blowing in my hair and not thinking about much of anything, clearing my head of all the scheduling, accounting, decision making and just being me for a few hours each week.

My go to spot is my prayer closet which actually is the room I share with my darling wife in my mother-in-laws house. My adopted son has two rooms dedicated for him and his dog and my mother-in-law has the largest room. TSgt Joe C.

When home, my go-to-place of refuge is usually my office/music room. I suppose it's called my man den too.
In the room, I have most of the comforts needed: a computer and laptop, two amplifiers, five guitars, and an old Bose to listen to Rush Limbaugh or Country music. The office houses several full notebooks of genealogy research, personal military history, religious references for talks to give, music books, sheet music, novels and short stories I've written, and part of my Indian sculptures I had collected through the years.
In my closet are more scads of music books, church magazines, Arizona Highways magazines, and a full rack of sports coats and shirts for church.
My wife insists I need no more guitars, but . . .
I need a larger room . . .

Glad to revive this thread. As a newbie on this forum, I must say my go-to spot is also my garden. It's my little slice of paradise where I can relax and unwind. TSgt Joe C. My peaceful place/endeavor is mentally floating down Ohio’s Muskingum River on a large inner tube. The large inner tube keeps my vitals from being attacked by Snapping Turtles!
