Kiss has always been my favorite group and "I wanna Rock and Roll all night and Party everyday" has been my favorite song.

As a music fan, and considering those eras created some of the best rock songs ever, for me there are too many to list. But KISS is certainly on that list.

I have a long list, but I would say Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Culture Club, Jackson 5, Run DMC, Duran Duran, America, Steve Miller Band, etc.

Detroit Rock City is one of my favorites from them (ok, and not just because I was born there). From the 80's, I'd have to pick Guns n Roses and Metallica. May sound strange, but I also love Willie Nelson's music and that kooky guy known as Tom Petty.

Good Band, and choice in song. For me, EWF's "Let's Groove", Marvin Gaye's "Let's get it on", Teddy Pendegras "When somebody loves you back"...Damn you said one, but the 70's and 80's were SO good with real singers and musicians. The Who "Can't Explain" or "Won't get fooled again", 80's bad boys GnR "Welcome to the Jungle", "Mr. Brownstone", "You could be mine"....damn!! New Edition...damn near every song they made. And Eddie Murphy's "Boogie in your butt". Back when he was still funny as hell.

Well, all I can say is that that was a special time for music the 70's & 80's were. It all started with Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis in the 50's, Hill Billy Music crossed with the Blues sound of the day. Those 5 people are Rock and Roll and what it became, I know I am leaving out the rest of the guys from sun records, even Elvis. Elvis was a showman more than a musician, but what a showman he was.

As for modern music anyone just about can sing in to a voice mixer and have it come out sounding like a professional with a hint of CP-3-0 lingering in the background. No talent needed, and computers fill in the music. It is for the most part garbage.

Okay many of you may or may not know of this group but I'm a huge fan. I have vinyl and CDs of them. I drive those closest to me crazy playing their songs all of the time. It's a Scottish Rock band called Big Country. Many know the one song of theirs "In a Big Country" but they have many more awesome songs. Totally dig this band and listen to them to this day!

SCPO David Lockwood, There have been many great Bands/groups from the 70's-80's that I loved growing up listening to, but my favorite band would be between Australia’s “Men-at-Work” and England’s “Tears for Fears” I also liked The Steve Miller Band, Bob Segar and The Silver Bullet Band, England Dan and John ford Coley of the 70’s. Also, in both eras Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Styx, and Foreigner all of whom had hits in both decades. Country Rock Band wise I loved Alabama, The Statler Brothers, The Oak Ridge Boys, and The Eagles.

Far too many groups or songs to list, suffice it to say that I pretty much listen to rock of any variety from basically when the Beatles released Sgt. Peppers to about the time that Grunge came along, except for Hairbands, can not stand Hairbands!!
