IS 40:31 is my favorite Bible Verse SPC Andrew Griffin
My paraphrase : they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not by weary.
Over the years God has had me wait many years a few times before He fulfilled His promises. He has reminded me of this scripture on many occasions as I was struggling with His timetable.
He is always faithful to fulfill His word - sometimes in ins instantaneous while other times in takes years.
He took 30 years to bring me to the point of recognizing for me need for His atoning work which fulfilled all the requirements fro my eternal salvation.

This tells us of the sacrifice that God made so that we can have hope of salvation and everlasting life. .... A world without hope is Hopeless!

Pretty obvious but I have to say John 3:16. Not only because it's a more popular one, but my division in boot camp was 316. So that's pretty awesome.

I don't have one quote from the Bible that carry's more weight than the other being it's a constant circular story with open meanings and hidden meanings. One "quote" that isn't completely real came from Pulp Fiction. "There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon you". At face value is what the Military is and does daily. We are the shepherds who walk through the valley of darkness. We are our brothers keepers, and DO strike down with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy our brothers, but we are NOT the Lord (but you might get a one on one session with him from us). Hidden in there is the fact that we (mankind) might not be the righteous man, and those doing us harm are. It's not a real quote from the Bible, but DOES have real world ramifications.

Joshua 1:9

9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

This scripture exemplifies the strength every soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine needs during deployment and a military career.

Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

I like this one because Joshua shows us that no matter what other people do or think, we should serve the Lord. My house and I do our best to serve the Lord.

"All things work together for good, for them who love the Lord and are called according to His purposes." It is one of those verses that keep me going when things seem to go wrong.
