Domingo "Sam" Samudio who led Sam the Sham & the PHAROAHS did his best to sing ridiculous songs;

Hard to say, LTC Stephen F.. Ray Stevens sang a number of ridiculous novelty songs in the sixties to include: "Harry the Hairy Ape", "Santa Claus Is Watching You", "Jeremiah Peabody's Polyunsaturated Quick-Dissolving, Fast-Acting Pleasant-Tasting Green and Purple Pills", "Ahab the Arab" and Gitarzan. I guess "The Streak" is also worthy of mention, although it was released in the seventies. Just the number of crazy songs he did should put him up near the top of the list.

Most everyone is taking a safe road. I must have started developing my warped sense of humor early so I choose "Boobs A Lot" by the Fugs, released in 1965. It was a mainstay later on the Dr. Demento Show which included Monty Python, Spike Jones doing "Der Fuehrer's Face", and other artists. Dr. Demento had a run of 40 years on the air and then shifted to streaming. There's a lot of material from the '60s.
