In my case, early on in the application process, I could have done a better job on my own resumes. However, in the past six months, I know my resumes have been much better and have been specific to the jobs I am applying for. Just want to give a good overall account of the system.Response by MSgt Mark Reuss made Apr 13 at 2015 12:47 PM2015-04-13T12:47:38-04:002015-04-13T12:47:38-04:00PO1 Glenn Boucher917021<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>USAJobs.gov is not really very good. The resume that you can build is really not functional nor printer friendly. Job applications get lost, at least in my experience, a week or two after you initially submit the application.<br />And I do not know what USAJobs.gov can do, but there is almost never any feedback or status updates even when you ask to be notified about jobs closing.Response by PO1 Glenn Boucher made Aug 25 at 2015 1:20 PM2015-08-25T13:20:50-04:002015-08-25T13:20:50-04:00SSG David Dickson926243<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a USAJOBS and ACAP success story. I was able to translate my resume`into terms my prospective employer could relate to, was referred by HR, to the interview list, and was able to start my new job as soon as my permissive TDY had expired. When submitting your resume` use as much verbiage from the job posting as ethically possible to get past the initial screening, then be prepared to back up everything you claim with documentation (awards, evals, DD214) additionally have strong references, who you assume will be contacted to back up your qualifications.Response by SSG David Dickson made Aug 29 at 2015 7:31 AM2015-08-29T07:31:52-04:002015-08-29T07:31:52-04:001LT Private RallyPoint Member926535<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have been using USAJobs to apply for many jobs and although I am usually qualified/overqualified, I never get a call or an email, despite sending 10+ resumes/CV per week. But hey I may be an outlier, and luckily I have enough work in the private sector to keep me going.Response by 1LT Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 29 at 2015 11:50 AM2015-08-29T11:50:52-04:002015-08-29T11:50:52-04:002015-04-13T12:44:49-04:00
