What is your dream school that you want to attend in the military?

The top 4 on my list to attend if I had the chance are:

1) Tomb Sentinel Training
2) Airborne School
3) Sniper School
4) Sapper School

2. HALO
3. Pathfinder

Well because i transition out of the Marine Corps into the Army...my chances are a little bit higher for said schools but its not the high speed schools that Im 100% interested in. Its schools like DLI for learning foreign languages i hold a little higher. Why? I like talking to people and it works well on the civilian side to speak different languages.

At this point in my life and my career, I don't want any. I've gotten close enough to my dream job that I'm perfectly happy. I'll gladly spend the rest of my career as a crew chief.

One of the most interesting parts of the job when I was in Alaska was doing the psych evals for the guys trying to get selected for sniper school. I met some interesting fellows.

I wanted Pathfinder forever. When they seperated us grunts mechanized, it was a death blow for getting schools. You could spot the 11M's a mile away. EIB/CIB and a combat patch after 1991.

I don't think this technically counts as a "school" but I really wanted to complete Expert Field Medical Badge training to earn that badge. It's one of the hardest badges to earn in the military statistically, and despite doing my damnedest to earn it I washed out both times I was given an opportunity to try for it.

As far as legit schools though? Probably Airborne. Earning a Ranger tab would be pretty awesome, but I love food and sleep too much to suffer through that torture to earn that bragging right.

SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member, I started Tomb Sentinel training. It wasn't a school, but that was 1978. It was a two-week trial period, during which you start training and two things happen - 1) you see if you think you're cut out to be a Tomb Guard and 2) the leadership sees if you're cut out to be a tomb guard. After my two weeks, I opted out. Things have undoubtedly changed in 36 years, but that would be a very neat job to have.

My dream school would have been Drill Sergeant training, because I always wanted to be a Drill Sergeant, but I never did get to do that. Going warrant kind of put the kibosh on any further thought of it, too.

I am too old and not "special" enough to qualify for it, but HALO would have been fun I think.

Reality I want to go to War College and pin O-6 some day.

I would have to list my top four as...

1. Tomb Sentinel
2. Jungle Warfare (Jungle Expert Tab)
3. Drill Sergeant
4. Sniper School

There are a few others I would like to have the chance to try, such as SERE Level C, Airborne, HALO, Sapper, and SF selection. Those four are the ones that I want most though. However, because of my age (I joined late) and the fact that I am NG, none of these are likely to ever happen for me.

None. But then again, I'm no longer in the military. :) But when I was in I wanted first to go to diver school. I qualified in boot camp. But then "you are a nuke." So I first had to go to sea and then do it from there. By that time I decided not to. Later on towards the end of my time I wanted to change from nuke to spook and go to language immersion school. Once again. "Born a nuke, die a nuke." sigh.
