It is all perspective. I went from Mad at the world to not by doing this.
My perspective is this now: My wife loves me and is glad that I am here, I am not 7000 miles away from home anymore, no one is shooting at me and I have a job I like. I have two teenage children that still love to be with Dad. I have friends, I have my health and despite my disabilities I can still walk, hear see and work.
I can sleep through the night and if I drop dead right here and now, I have been forgiven for everything I ever did and the next eyes I look into will be Jesus Christ's.

I guess that sums up Happy in my book

Here are a couple pictures of my happiness. My daughter got married to a great guy and Army Ranger this past Saturday. God watch over and blesses them!

No kids and no real family to speak of.. But driving this makes me very happy... :)

My happiness is being Retired. I work for a few hours every morning. Have a beer break in the afternoon and then work a couple more hours before starting supper. Pretty much every day. At MY pace. I have a small acreage in the middle of nowhere. We raise, slaughter and butcher our own chickens and pigs. My garden is the size of a standard city lot. Of course the 50% VA disability limits my pace but that's ok too. Between the VA check and the E-8 pension, I really don't have to get a job and there's always something to do around here to stay busy. We don't eat steak every night but I really wouldn't want to.

Not worrying about the past, staying present in the moment, not stressing of the future.
Stop trying to control or worry about things that is impossible to control.

It not easy by any means. But it takes practice. And listening to the only muscle that matters and truly feel it. The HEART...
