I can also run really fast for a long time." Seeing that recruiters face was probably the funniest thing ever! My question is: What's the funniest thing you've heard from a recruiters office? What is your best recruiter story?2015-02-12T18:12:16-05:00MIDN 2/C Private RallyPoint Member472503<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So one day I was in my recruiters office to get scheduled for my ASVAB and I overheard this kid tell one of the Marines, "So yeah I was playing Call of Duty and it motivated me to do 'black ops' in the Marine Corps! Eventually my recruiter stopped taking my referrals because they all either had felonies or couldn't pass a drug test. haha. I think about five in the last 3 years actually got through the system and security checks.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 19 at 2015 6:59 PM2015-07-19T18:59:28-04:002015-07-19T18:59:28-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member827625<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>For a while I ran a Paintball Team for the NCNG. I was doing an event in Spring Lake, NC and we had a bunch of prospects. So a group of young junior Marines show up. All of them early high school age. I didn't have an issue with this at all. They could play too. So one of them asks me about the National Guard and I answer a few questions and he says "Well, the Marines are better!" I asked him if he heard about the Marines putting free paintball event. He got all excited and said he didn't know about it. I told him that they don't have one and if he wanted to play with the National Guard he needs to tone it down and show some respect to actual service members. He did and we all had a good time. The last thing I wanted to deal with was a 14 year old trying to down talk the National Guard at a National Guard hosted event.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 19 at 2015 7:20 PM2015-07-19T19:20:33-04:002015-07-19T19:20:33-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member828199<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had an Army recruiter ask if I wanted to go Navy. I said no. He continued to tell me why I should not go into the Navy (which I never wanted to go into....) and threw a piece of paper down on the floor and said you are off duty, you are on the ship (piece of paper) in the middle of the ocean (the floor), where are you going? My stepdad looked him straight in the eye and said "No she can't!" My recruiter looked at me and I replied "No, I can't." His expression was a little of shock mixed with "not-gonna-ask".Response by TSgt Melissa Post made Aug 4 at 2016 3:50 AM2016-08-04T03:50:25-04:002016-08-04T03:50:25-04:00Kiersten Childs4667347<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was in the waiting area of my Navy recruiter the other day and this girl was telling my recruiter that she was afraid of water and heights. She also needed to be stationed somewhere where it wasn't too hot out because she was sensitive to heat. My recruiter then stood up and said "Why don't you go visit the Coast Guard recruiter. I don't think you are a good fit for the Navy." I'm not sure why he suggested the CG recruiter but it was funny and I could tell he just wanted her out of his office.Response by Kiersten Childs made May 25 at 2019 9:45 AM2019-05-25T09:45:21-04:002019-05-25T09:45:21-04:002015-02-12T18:12:16-05:00
