On the first day of our left seat/right seat we are on a vehicle patrol going over this floating bridge when the VCs HMMVW seat starts touching the battery under it. He sees that its sparking and I guess he saw a flame because he hit the in vehicle fire suppression system. The driver was a kid from Admin who had volunteered to come out with us, anyways, the fire suppression system goes off with a bang and filled the inside with smokey white powder. He yells IED and as the driver jumps out the moving HMMWV and starts to panic. This was hands down the funniest thing I ever saw on deployment. Needless to say he never went out on patrol with us again. They would name a year, like 1944, and compare where they had been assigned. <br /><br />A LT at the end of the bar made some comment about their memories and age, and the Col. asked the LT where HE had been in 1944. The LT said "Sir, I wasn't born yet in 1944"<br /><br />The Col. said in a stage whisper that all could hear "Son, does your mommy know where you are?"
