What is you favorite "old school" military movie?

With the passing of GySgt Emery it made me think my favorite old school movie. Most might say Full Metal Jacket but for my hands down Heartbreak Ridge with Clint Eastwood. If you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and buckle in for a classic. For some, you might remember going to see the movie in theaters for $0.50..lol!

How about "Dawn Patrol" with Errol Flynn, Sgt Adrian Jones? That was released in 1938 so it definitely should it should be classified as old school for sure!

Patton. Saw it at the base theater at Fort Shafter, Oahu, Hawaii, when it was released. I think the price of admission was $0.25

Sands of Iwo Jima would be on the list of many with "The Duke". Gung Ho about Carlson's Raiders. Devil's Brigade about 1st SSF. There's an old B&W about Custer that is good too.

"Old School" I guess would depend on the age of the person. In my opinion the very first Movie that went leaps and bounds ahead of the way war movies were made was " Platoon".
Many of the war movies up until then were "sanitized".
