What is/was your favorite Halloween prank?

As a child, I would swap license plates on cars in the neighborhood. As an adult, I hung threads that felt like spider webs in the dark from the porch roof and had to go to the porch steps to deliver treats to children (and adults) who couldn't make it to the door.

I like to turn away kids that are too old to beg for candy and/or no costume.

I once poured purple paint in the driveway and told kids Barney got run over. Did Carmel dipped Lemons once for a party, nothing to over the top at my house.

I once knew in advance that my sons sports team was planning on trick or treating together as a team. So, I donned a ghillie suit and hid in the bushes adjacent to my houses porch where they were committed and had no escape route. Once the team was on the porch and jumped up screaming. Scared the sheeeeet outa all of them! Coincidently, my son, despite his fear, jumped towards me in attack! HOOOAH!!!

I never did it, but my son could dress up, lay perfectly still on the ground, and when some little kid got at just the right point on our ramp, he'd pop up and scare the snot out of them.

It wasn't mine, it was my Dad's... he had "door duty" on Halloween and I had "gofer" duty:
Ding dong....
"Trick or treat," chirped the little voice at the door.
"Trick," replied my Dad.
The kid eyed my Dad...
My Dad eyed the kid...
"So what kind of trick can you do," he asked.
The kid stood there, not moving. A line was forming behind him.
Just then, my Mom came down the stairs...
"The trick is for him not to pee on our front porch. For Heaven's sake, Sandy, just give the kid his treat."

Captain, I find your comic strip OFFENSIVE. Why does the strip have to assign gender roles and show the man as dominant over the woman? Why is the woman wearing a skirt instead of pants, or the man not wearing a skirt too? And why does it assign the job of shopping to the woman? Shouldn't it be a joint effort and done together as equals? This cartoon is offensive to every community out there LGBTQABCDFM!@#$% and squirrels. Yes squirrels, because why should their homes be vandalized because of a human dissatisfaction with the type of gifts that will be given to strangers?

That being said, I really enjoyed having a toilet covered in hairspray and then when the kids would come near I would light the thing on fire. It was a really cool blue flame. I also liked the time I strapped a hard cover textbook to my chest, and atop that had a bag full of syrup, ketchup, and alcohol. I waited for some neighbor kids I knew to come and took a real K-bar and stabbed it through my shirt into the book, took a bite capsule of a fake blood tab and fell to the ground pretending to cough out blood and die. Or the balloon suspended by fishing line diagonally across the intersection. Cars would stop and couldn't figure out what to do. God blessed the 80s and 90s. People were people rather than this vile sputum of self-righteous hypocrites getting offended at everything. Seriously, on post I had a contractor slam a window shut stating that "fresh air" offends him.
