What is up with disgruntled Veteran Movement

On my brake from Rally Point i have noticed there are a ton of disgruntled Veterans. Blaming civilians for why they are so upset. Or my favorite is Veteran bashing from with in the community itself. I dont mean harmless rivalry i talking veterans telling other veterans they are useless and should kill themselves. Im getting sick of hearing entitled veterans saying people need to adjust to them and just accept what is going on and not be so thin skinned, and we deserve discounts. But they are the first to get pissed when a civilian says service members and veterans are entitled. They want to call a "Fire Mission". What happen to being thick skinned and not being offended easily. So basically this brake made me realize why i loved Rally Point. Because on here everyone for the most part is Professional and has civilized debates on matters. There are the ones that get out of had but the Admins do a great job of squashing it.

I get annoyed at alleged veterans coming in here and just basically attacking you or other veterans apologizing for not being in wars. If you go back far enough you will find heroes and other veterans in one's lineage....

It's another wedge issue being created to divide us even further. Military/Vets vs civilians is another haves vs the have-nots issue that really doesn't exist outside of the minds of those that divide. Although we see it on line and the occasional news blurb, I've never seen it personally. This isn't to say it isn't happening, but it seems to be emerging from certain news outlets.

I do think civilians should learn more about us. The reason they should learn about us is, from a business major's stand point, they should learn about all the resources available to them. They should learn what leadership is and what it can bring to their organization compared to management. They should learn how we can positively effect their area of influence. They should learn how e can handle what they call "stress", and how we can pass some of these skills on by example. As a smart manager, civilians should learn about all resources available to them instead of standing on prejudices perpetuated by "Rambo" type Hollywood portrayals.

It was started as a joke. Unlike the initial blurb here, it's not that bad.

There are some who take it overboard, they're squashed pretty quickly whether by Admins or others. It's a place to rip on the other services and MOS'. It's a place to use censored terms like "Dependa" and share the bullshit stories from CQ, Patrols or Block Leave. It's a place to vent in a world where no one else really gives a damn about what you say.

Take a breath and either embrace it or block it. If you want to see negative things, you'll never see anything positive.

I don't agree.

I just mean that, what PO2 Ferretti is saying is not something I have noticed around here on RP. But then again, I hang out with alot of Veterans. They do complain, the same amount as they did when they were in. It's ingrained and it's ok.

It may have started as a place to bs with vets and blow off steam, but it's taken on a completely different emphasis. Dysfunctional helps homeless vets. They also work with BID and 22. Both organizations are awesome. Disgruntled is a place to blow off steam and a place to talk with other vets who are experiencing problems. The admin help them by listening. Some times we just want to vent to someone who understand.

Vets helping vets is what has to happen. We can not depend on civilians to help us.
