Calling Citi or Finance won&#39;t get it turned back on. He&#39;s not authorized to use an AER loan to purchase it either; if he self purchases he may not get reimbursed after.<br />A simple call back to the losing unit card manager will fix it. The government travel card is normally reserved for service member use during TDY and travel, not between stations. I would first do as advised and contact the loosing G8, but I would also go on line and read the travel policy, while I was sitting in the travel office with his orders. Thank you for your service. Rules on GTC determine when it&#39;s active and what limits are placed on it. Your friend needs to talk with his chain of command. The travel card person in his unit can make the biggest impact of getting the GTC activated. Authorization to bring dependents to place of assignment should entail orders for the dependents along with funding codes for paying for their move. These orders should be in the Defense Travel System. The move can be done without using the GTC, I suppose, but would be a lot easier with the GTC.
