What is the regulation addressing socks with ACUs/OCPs? Does it state whether or not you can have logos on your socks?

PFC when we transitioned from BDU to ACU I remember the socks where green with no logo. My favorite is the wick like socks. When rucking, it's best to use standard issue. Also to add get a wire brush to clean the desert boots. The main thing is to look presentable at all times. Mostly on Mondays.

AR 670-1. I would suggest asking your team leader if you are unsure. His job is to ensure you don't make mistakes. To make it easy for you, you are never to wear socks with logos be it ACU, ASU, or APFU. When in ACUS or multicams, your only options are green or black socks. Additionally on deployment Under Armour of any sort is not authorized due to the potential of the clothes melting to your skin in the event of fire.

When I was transferred into a flight company and put on flight status I was issued the Fire Resistant Environmental Ensemble (FREE). As part of that issue I received "Darn Tough" brand socks. They have a logo on the side and "Darn Tough" on the toes. They're amazing socks too btw if you don't mind paying $25/pair.

Great now I have this image in my head that I am going to spot someone at DFW Airport in Bobby Socks with Boots and wearing an ACU.....lol I always got a laugh out of the very few Soldiers that would wear white cotton socks under their black boots.

If nobody can see your socks then you're good. If you're leadership is making you take your boots off and inspect socks. You have some misguided leadership including chain of support (1SGs and CSMs).

PFC, those socks that the Army issued you.....THOSE are the socks you are to be wearing with your duty uniform. And since they don't have logos on them..........

AR 670-1, unless something drastic has changed in the last couple years.
Socks, will be black, cushion sole. I have not seen black, cushion sole socks with logos...but anything is possible?
The socks are clothing bag issue items, but you will want to buy new socks at some point and similar socks would be advisable.
The socks should be a black nylon and wool blend, stretch type, calf-length with a cushion sole.
The black, cushion sole socks are worn by all personnel when wearing combat or organizationally issued boots.

I was told you could wear black or green socks but like the other people said you can't have socks showing. I always blouse my ACUs so you can never see my socks. Regardless of logo or not.

Damn son- the regs for uniforms are specific- you are suppose to wear what the blazes the issued you, period!!. In my day you could get away with white socks(Plain) with the BDU, cause 1- they were out of sight- 2. They made great field bandages. You still had to have the required number pairs of issue socks on hand for inspections/layouts.

How about you pull up the regulation and have a look at it? That way you know the answer and you will always remember it. Seems dumb to get on RallyPoint and ask such a question when you can be not lazy and pull the reg up on your computer and read it for yourself.

Just use common sense. Wear whatever is functionally the best for you as long as no one sees them. If your going for an inspection or something, use the ol army issue. Lot of robots out here saying otherwise. Just use your brain (know the reg, know when to follow, know when to not)
