What is the overall general attitude of those in uniform today to the election of Donald Trump?

A good friend of mine is a Retention NCO in a Combat Arms unit. I asked what the general attitude was like in his unit after the election of Donald Trump. He said quote "There is an attitude and spirit of pervasive Hope, Joy and Optimism." end quote. He also said that retention rates are way way up, with more Soldiers reenlisting since Clinton is NOT going to be the CinC. What say you all?

I lost all respect for the former Secretary Of State when she asked "What difference does it make?" when talking about dead American Heroes, and when Rep Trey Gowdy (R-SC) reviewed and found that she had denied requests for more support and better weaponry for the security details in Libya. the Difference is that it DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Who was front and center a Hillary convention. BLM, illegal Aliens. Had to be shamed into having an American Flag and a moment of silence for police officers . Who were assasinated by BLM supporters. And yelling BLM during the moment of silence.

Obviously, I'm not currently serving, but I'm around those who are. I haven't found many among younger serving members who are "happy" with Trump's win, but most are cautiously optimistic. They are outspokenly happy that Hillary lost having worried about serving under her or choosing to leave.

The few friends I have that are still in, are all very happy with the Trump election. I remember the days of Bill Clinton and it was a dark time to be in the Military.

No matter what anyone believes, the sun does not rise and set because of Barack Obama. Quite similarly, the sun will not rise and fall because of Donald Trump. I am just sick and tired of not being able to buy headlights, head gaskets, PCMs for transmissions, and other common mechanical parts. When Soldiers see aid going to other countries or the terrible Iran deal that was made without the knowledge of the American people, they get discouraged as if they are not an important entity to the POTUS. After squashing some, "He is not my President" rhetoric, I believe that the overall feeling is one of optimism. They feel that they are getting a CIC that cares about the outdated dwindling fleet, dwindling Soldier and family morale, and the sentiment that military members are second class citizens. I am but a utility that my command uses to meet their intent. I believe that the Soldiers feel that they have someone on their side to meet their intent.

I served my country, not any particular POTUS. I don't like Trump, however I don't see how that matters as long as he's not trying to push illegal orders.

My feeling is neutral towards the election of the new CIC. I am neither hopeless or optimistic. It's pretty much a wait-and-see game for me. Anyways, he is The person the American people chose. Once he get his inaugurated, he will get the same respect I have given all prior CIC, as I am duty bound to do.

Well since Trump knows more about ISIS than our Generals, I'm sure everything is going to be great.

I honestly believe we were given the choice between a narcissistic pathological liar billionaire, and a dynastic megalomaniacal corporatist. But we are a resilient nation. We've survived worst situations than a Trump presidency. And I'm not convinced that HRC would have been any less problematic.

None of the soldiers I am currently around wanted Killery elected. They all seem to have relief that President Trump will be taking over as CinC. They are even more ecstatic that Mad Dog Mattis will be SecDef.

I talk to many of the folks who are still in ... they areapprehinsive because they are not sure of what to expect... but in some circles ther are most upset because HRC will not be able to continue BHOs Legacy... and after 8 years they still can't say what he has accomplished and what is so great about his legacy... beyond obamacare

About the only reason to vote for this man is that he isn't Hillary. That said, virtually every proposal goes against the constitution and our founding principles, he seeks privatizing of the VA, which will reduce our quality of treatment and impact 22 million of our brothers. But to me, the moment he insulted the sacrifice of Capt. Khan and then failed to apologize he was unfit. This guy is going to give a few people a lot and most of us nothing. But the biggest test will be when they cut 20% of soc sec and Ryan tries to voucher medicare. This is not our GOP. Hopefully, they will see the impact millions of homeless sr's will have and that it outweighs the short term reward. He's as apt to be preoccupied with Alec Baldwin tweets as he is breaking just about every other promise he's made. But he's not Hillary.
