Wanting to come here just to work and improve your quality of life is a very good reason, but it does not qualify for asylum. Coming into this country illegally and demanding your "rights" is a slap in the face to all the immigrants who are respecting our laws and country and going about it legally. In the years 2005 through 2007, the number of asylum seekers accepted into the U.S. was about 40,000 per year. There is nothing that I know of that state’s minimum care for asylee’s, since most countries don’t offer all the protection we do. Most do however take in some. The US currently sets a maximum threshold but there is no minimum. SSG Brian G.
