I spent 6 years Army National Guard, and my TMJ never caused issues or kept me from doing anything. Every FMR it was addressed that I had mild TMJ and it wasn't something that kept me from deploying, and it wasn't a factor that would keep me from re-enlisting. So I don't understand why MEPS would disqualify me, when I am prior service and had no prior issues with having TMJ. I don't have to wear a retainer either. What is the likelihood of the surgeon general approving a waiver for TMJ for me to join the air guard?2020-12-29T00:13:00-05:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6614942<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What is the likelihood of the surgeon general approving a waiver for TMJ for me to join the Air Guard? If you had treatment and/or symptomatic within the last 12 months, that is why you got DQ'd at MEPS. It could be that if you came in prior to this updated 2018 format, that may be why you had no issues getting in. As for the likelihood of the Surgeon General approving the waiver, that will depend all on the Surgeon General and the substantiating documents submitted with the waiver.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 29 at 2020 5:24 AM2020-12-29T05:24:36-05:002020-12-29T05:24:36-05:002020-12-29T00:13:00-05:00
