I don't know the specifics, but this should be considered and researched.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 11 at 2014 11:26 PM2014-11-11T23:26:50-05:002014-11-11T23:26:50-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member323002

1LT Private RallyPoint Member this is a very dangerous lure. I know many of us have hear or seen Soldiers getting married before deployment to get the extra BAH and separation pay. Some do it just for the money and others do it figuring why not get the money now and do an official ceremony when they return. Unfortunately, I have not seen any successful quick marriages before deployment, nothing but heartache. There is the temptation. As far as if they are valuable to get married that depends on each individual. What would you do for extra money or if you were not in the military and needed health insurance?Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 11 at 2014 11:27 PM2014-11-11T23:27:15-05:002014-11-11T23:27:15-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member323084

Eighteen months, in my observation is how long one of these goes. PCS time = divorce time.
Soldiers that do this are committing fraud, plain and simple. It is a very expensive lesson to learn.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 12 at 2014 12:45 AM2014-11-12T00:45:42-05:002014-11-12T00:45:42-05:002014-11-11T23:23:56-05:00
