What is the Flight Warrant Officer application process and requirements for active duty?

Is it possible to drop a Warrant Officer packet as a PFC, if I am ASVAB and Sift qualified? Can I drop the package as soon as I get to my first unit?

If you are currently at AIT, you don’t want to drop your WOFT packet right away. Give it a little time to get the pilots that you will work for to get to know you, you will need letters of recommendations from them for your packet.

For one I am happy that you are interested in becoming a Warrant so soon, however, and you knew that was coming if you are wanting to become a technician you will need to have been in for certain amounts of time and they do vary, take a look at the requirements on the Army Warrant page here, http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/warrant/prerequ/WO153A.shtml now then if you want to go flight that is a completely different story though because you can do that High-school to Flight School if you have completed all the prerequisites. You can drop a packet at any time. Have you already taken the SIFT and if so what was your score. Have you done a flight physical yet? If not I would get that taken care of as that is a non negotiable step to getting to flight school. I agree to a point with SSG Mboup the letter of recommendation is going to be the thing you are going to have to work to get. Most senior Warrant Officers won't write just anyone a letter. Get to your unit, get to know the pilots that you work with and then broach the subject of a letter of recommendation. Make sure your packet is complete before discussing this, I can only speak for myself but I won't write a letter until the Soldier has completed their packet. It shows that you are serious and not wasting anyone's time. This is just my two cents. If you have any other questions DM me and I will help where I can. Yes you can but, do you think your commander, the senior warrant and the Battalion Commander will recomend you without knowing what you made of?
