Last night, I used the My HealtheVet website to schedule an appointment. In the past, I've called or just scheduled in person.

My question is, what has been your go-to method to schedule appointments to be seen in a timely manner at your VA? What is the best way to schedule an appointment at the VA? 2018-10-02T10:04:05-04:00 SGT Ben Keen 4012909

So for those of us that are out of the service and using the VA Healthcare, there are several ways to schedule appointments. One time there was an emergency and I just walked in and someone was able to see me within an hour. If there is a 30 day delay get a choice appointment. Never had a problem so far. However from the out first you wanna get registered at what ever facility you want to be seen at, the while your registering ask how long before you’ll be assigned to a provider. You can also ask if they have walk-in or same day appointments. Most if not all VA facilities have an emergency or urgent care the wait may be lengthy but if you need care then it’s worth the wait.
