It's a typical first filter requirement. If your degree is a BA History, that works, but is limiting otherwise. Tickets in the sciences, computers, engineering, etc. become paid for springboards later on for O-3s seeking graduate programs. I'm not aware of waivers, but don't expect them to be around in a downsizing environment. They are looking for ways to say "no" to most things people want to do.<br /><br />BTW there are various degree programs you can work on while AD. SIU is a common one.Response by CAPT Kevin B. made Jan 6 at 2017 2:53 PM2017-01-06T14:53:18-05:002017-01-06T14:53:18-05:001stSgt Private RallyPoint Member2222976<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Start taking college course after hours. Make a track record to back up your desire for commissioning. The Army will be looking at a record of learning ability.Response by 1stSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2017 2:53 PM2017-01-06T14:53:19-05:002017-01-06T14:53:19-05:00LTC Kevin B.2223275<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I didn't go through the Green-to-Gold program, but I did go a similar path. I finished out my initial 3-year contract, and then immediately applied to college. Once accepted, I immediately started talking to the ROTC department. The ROTC departments tend to like prior-service applicants who have a strong, and clean, service record.Response by LTC Kevin B. made Jan 6 at 2017 4:57 PM2017-01-06T16:57:18-05:002017-01-06T16:57:18-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member2223750<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The best way is to apply for the Green to Gold programResponse by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 6 at 2017 7:56 PM2017-01-06T19:56:50-05:002017-01-06T19:56:50-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member2224040<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>An option that my be available for you is west point they have a few enlisted slots every year.
