I want to make sure I understand.
1. Left on detail because you were going to get out.
2. Re-enlisted, then failed APFT recently.
3. Do remedial PT, next APFT in 6 days.
Between 2 and 3, you requested 90 days and was rejected. So we have not seen 84 days go by between 2 and 3 right?

So playing barracks lawyer, here's the regulation below. It requires a 2nd record APFT no later than 90 days, soonest being when the commander *and* the soldier think they're ready. In my unit, if you fail a record APFT, we have to submit a memo to petition to take a second record APFT sooner than 90 days to get unflagged (because we don't like being flagged or we can't go to training and other favorable actions). Based on your other piece of information regarding your injury, you may really want to see about getting a profile as well.

(5) Soldiers who fail a record APFT for the first time or fail to take a record APFT within the required period will be flagged in accordance with AR 600–8–2. In the event of a record test failure, commanders may allow Soldiers to retake the test as soon as the Soldier and the commander feel the Soldier is ready. Soldiers without a medical profile will be retested no later than 90 days following the initial APFT failure. The RC Soldiers not on active duty and
without a medical profile will be tested no later than 180 days following the initial APFT failure. Your bonus amendment would stipulate this.
This brings up another reason to look into the medical angle - a medical chapter generally inoculates you from bonus recoupment (*there are exceptions!). If you want to take it before the 90 days you have to get approval from your commander.

Are you six days from your 90 days since you failed the first one? You can't get another 90 days after that.

You can get a profile but you're going to be flagged with that first failure until you take an APFT. I stopped doing a shit load of push ups and used a set of push up bars. I would do as many correct push ups as I could and then dropped to my knees and knock out another five. Each week I increased the correct push up by five. When it came time to take the APFT I had no trouble coming close to maxing my push ups. Good luck!
