I have two years left to serve actively and then I may be able to transfer into the Inactive Reserves (IR). Any advice would be much appreciated!! On the right hand side part way down the page is a link for the Army Career Tracker, or ACT. Select it, and on the ACT 2.0 page, left hand side under "plan" is "duty position search." You can search duty positions by component, location, etc. It will not show you open slots, but it will show units, and how many of each position they are MTOEd. If you find something that interests you, get in contact with your battalion carreer counselor, and see if he can help organize such a move. Of course your commander will have to sign off on it, but most will, as long as you aren't flagged. They should be able to find that out for you. Or, you can talk to your S1 shop. They may be able to find that.
