What do you think is the best tank ever and why?

LTC Dr Richard Wasserman, LTC (R), you might think a CI guy has no clue regarding tanks ... and you'd be mostly right.
Nevertheless, I can do some basic Internet research. After doing that, I vote for the German Leopard 2A7 tank. Why? Well, for the reasons listed:
- It's well protected against anti-tank weapons and IEDs,
- It's fast and fairly mobile (for a tank).
- It has an accurate and long range main gun (compared to the competition).

The Leopard 2A7 main battle tank was revealed in 2010. It is a proposed upgrade package for existing MBTs. German Army plans to upgrade about 50 - 150 Leopard 2 tanks to the 2A7 standard.
