What is the best coffee? DFAC, or exchange/shoppette?

For those times where things are austere, your choices can be limited. NO coffee is not an option. I think DFAC coffee is better - the shoppette coffee never has any good coffee condiments. The "liquid sugar" or the "half and half" just don't taste right. What I found was at the DFAC, they would have these stir in powder mixes, like french vanilla and hazelnut that would really spice things up. What do you think?

MRE Coffee Sir! Most of the time I agree that DFAC is better, but I typically only use DFAC when I'm on AT, so maybe it just seems different, thus better

I live close to Wright Patterson AFB, and they have a Starbucks right next door to the Shoppette. Needless to say, the shoppette doesn't sell nearly as much coffee now! LOL!

The coffee at the DFAC was never strong enough and the Shoppette coffee had crappy condiments..I agree with MAJ Private RallyPoint Member on that point

I like to think the best coffee is the one waiting for you to pour it. I get to work at 1800 every night and there's usually half a pot left from earlier in the day.

The best cup I've ever had in austere conditions was with a buddy at Sharana during the snowy winter. I was fortunate to have whole bean, a grinder, water heater, filters creamer and sugar. We poked a few holes in the bottom of a singles cereal container, insert filter, insert grinds, set on top of a mug and add hot water. One those unforgettable memories.

MAJ Private RallyPoint Member SSG Private RallyPoint Member If y'all just drank your coffee black then you would not have to worry about there being crappy condiments..... As long as the java is hot and not burnt I am good with it. I can not stand anything in my coffee, let alone flavors, the thought alone turns my stomach. The coffee from the Mini-Ex at JBAB is not that bad.

Since going without coffee is never an option and I never go to a DFAC unless told to do so or as a last resort, I will have to say the shopette

Bedding down a C-141 with half a jug of coffe remaining. Reheating it in the morning with a slice of cold pizza. Best breakfast ever!

DFAC Coffee is usually terrible.

Even Green Beans is better
