Nothing. It wasn't always fun, but I never regretted enlisting. The suck doesn't last forever and the good times make up for the bad ones.

Wearing all your battle rattle in the humid summer wet heat suffering from mosquito bites and prickly heat rash. When stationed at Camp Lejeune, I grew moss on my ass that didn't go away until the winter.
I have had dozens of other bad times as well. I have always been a weak runner. So running was hard for me. But some of the most miserable times (previous statement excluded) I had was some of the best now that I look back on it.

Riding in the back of an open LMTV at Fort Drum in October, when it's not yet cold enough to snow, but the rain freezes and turns you into a human popsicle that has to break out of a shell when you get to wherever you're going.
