That I left the unit in much better shape than I found it in.

I want to be remembered as a caring and professional leader who always had the best interests of my soldiers and their families in mind a who always accomplished the mission. I do not think the two are mutually exclusive of each other.

I want to be remembered as leaving the unit in better condition than it was when I was assigned.

IF they remember me, they will fondly recall that I was here for almost 7 years, knew PRP inside and out, worked hard, then retired. My guess would be that they will talk about me for about 1 week....maybe 2.

That I was competent, added value to the unit, and was a caring leader who Soldiers could trust. Lastly, that my word meant something. Always think about your legacy and how you contributed to the success of the organization without regard to who gets the credit. Pretty simple.
