What is off limits for recruiting individuals with some sort of record?

I have a friend who is looking to get into the military but he had sex with a minor when he was 18. He is 26 now abd has 2 more years on his probation. Just want to know if he has any luck with getting in with this on his record?

At 18 you are considered and adult. If he is registered as a sex offender in the system then I doubt he'll get a waiver. I agree with the others that he will need to finish his probation before looking into waivers or expunging his record.

SFC Private RallyPoint Member - While you may be trying to act in the best interest of your friend, my suggestion is to quit wasting your time (and his). He messed up. It's his problem to work through... not yours. Certainly, don't make it the Army's problem.

Depends on how old the girl was. In California if the girl was no more than two years apart. In other words it's kind of bad, but are not required to register as a sex offender since it was consensual.

Everyone deserve a second chance but unfortunately he can accomplished this outside the military. I wouldn't like for any of my daughters to be in the precence of this guy as a leader.

I don't know if the military is in this individuals future... Have the considered the seminary?
