Now I am married and my military spouse is my husband. Does anyone know about what its like to live on base in housing? Will he be treated same as a female spouse when it comes to living on base and FRG, etc? Having lived in the "old" Army, I feel somewhat nervous as I don't know what active duty is like after DADT and 17 years later ?What is it like living in housing post-DADT? Will my spouse be treated the same as a female spouse when it comes to living on base, FRG, etc?2019-04-03T23:54:48-04:00SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member4512152<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Going Reserve to Active. You're not the first gay couple anyone has seen. As long as you're a decent neighbor, no one will really care.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 4 at 2019 12:45 AM2019-04-04T00:45:24-04:002019-04-04T00:45:24-04:00MAJ Ken Landgren4513756<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I liked living on posts. No trash, safety, and proximity to work was appealing.Response by MAJ Ken Landgren made Apr 4 at 2019 1:02 PM2019-04-04T13:02:54-04:002019-04-04T13:02:54-04:00MSgt Michael Smith4529300<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I think you will be fine. There a lot of old bastards here on RP that talk a lot of nonsense, but it's been my general experience that most military people and families are pretty tolerant and accepting folks. If you ever do have a problem be sure to address it though.Response by MSgt Michael Smith made Apr 9 at 2019 12:51 PM2019-04-09T12:51:31-04:002019-04-09T12:51:31-04:002019-04-03T23:54:48-04:00
