Can someone verify this for me please? Most recruiters are busy trying to make quota and, so long as you don't get caught before you're in, they may not be the most scrupulous with regard to the truth in your paperwork. I am not saying that all recruiters are scoundrels -- only the ones I have dealt with.
You need to understand that failing to disclose materially pertinent information in your enlistment documents is a court martial offense. If you hide something, whether it weighs on your eligibility or not, and you are convicted, you go to jail with a felony conviction which, by the way, disqualifies you from receiving VA benefits.
No mater how you slice it, being honest in your documentation is ALWAYS your best move.
Something to bear in mind if you do enlist in the NG: the government does not want you double-dipping. That means you cannot get paid by the VA and the Army NG at the same time -- and that includes retirement checks, separation pay, etc. So, if you are receiving benefits and then start getting a paycheck from your unit, you MUST (and I emphasize must for your benefit) let the VA know most ricky-tick. Otherwise they will claw back what they paid you while you were getting money from both sources. And the longer you leave it, the more painful the clawback will be.Response by SSG Dale London made Dec 20 at 2020 10:06 PM2020-12-20T22:06:57-05:002020-12-20T22:06:57-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6596482

MEPS will know, the systems talk and you won’t be allowed to process until your C&P physical is provided.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 20 at 2020 10:29 PM2020-12-20T22:29:30-05:002020-12-20T22:29:30-05:00SGT Chris Padgett6596566

You cannot be in the NG/AD or Reserve's with any VA rating.
The only way you can is if the VA finds you 100% rehabilitated. The VA will have to release you and case close your file.
If that's the case, you can't go back and ask the VA to re-rate you with the prior disability when you get out.
You will have to submit a new claim, for different issues if they exist. But back, knee and wrist are off the table.
How are you going to pass a PT test with those disability's?
You can probably get away with not being released by the VA for awhile, but within three years (or sooner), it will be caught and you will have to repay anything paid.
You have a recruiter that's setting you up for disaster.
The drill pay vs 30% is a wash.
I understand wanting to go back, but you better think this through.Response by SGT Chris Padgett made Dec 20 at 2020 11:50 PM2020-12-20T23:50:22-05:002020-12-20T23:50:22-05:00LTC Raymond Buenteo6597201

This is an integrity check.
