When I was at Carson, we had to have rank, last name, battle roster number (initials and last 4 of your SSN), and blood type. Then you had to have the division and brigade patches on the sides of the helmet cover. As per color, it depends on the pattern. The UCP, you have to have a foliage green band. With the OCP, the cat-eye band is coyote brown.

But I've seen units where all they had was last name and blood type with their rank sewn into the front of the helmet cover. So, it varies from place to place.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 12 at 2018 8:20 AM2018-02-12T08:20:08-05:002018-02-12T08:20:08-05:00SPC Brent Melton3438371

As stated above, you won't find a regulation on it. I collect helmets that have been down range, and they are from every branch of service, but mostly focused on the Army. That being said, I've seen everything on cateyes and located everywhere.

Most will have your Name, Blood Type, and Battle Roster Number in varying forms. Some units have guys write them, others have them sewn on the cateyes directly, while others have them sewn a material, then sewn on to the band. Other units don't write anything at all on the cateyes, but that tends to be earlier in OEF/OIF.Response by SPC Brent Melton made Mar 11 at 2018 11:24 PM2018-03-11T23:24:05-04:002018-03-11T23:24:05-04:00SGM Bill Frazer3520988

All of that is per your unit SOPResponse by SGM Bill Frazer made Apr 7 at 2018 11:15 AM2018-04-07T11:15:56-04:002018-04-07T11:15:56-04:002018-02-10T14:19:33-05:00
